2026-2027 NYSATE Scholarships

Section 8 of the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers is awarding a variety of

scholarships for the 2026 - 2027 academic year. Financial need will not be a consideration.

Scholarship candidates must be either an active or affiliate member or child or ward of an active

or affiliate member who is in good standing for two or more consecutive years with this Local

Section as of the application submission deadline. The categories of scholarships and method of

selection for each are listed below:

1. One (1) $700 scholarship designated as the Frederick E. Bragg Scholarship for a full-time

student of Engineering or any field of study relating to transportation activities at a fully

accredited college or university. The recipient will be selected by the scholarship committee based

upon the candidate's scholastic achievements, extra-curricular activities, initiative and

character. Those applicants not selected for this scholarship will be automatically entered into

the lottery for the $400 scholarships.

2.  One (1) $600 scholarship in memory of Section 8 member Mandy Fuchs, Jr, designated as the

Amandus O. Fuchs, Jr. Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a full time student in any field of

study.

3. Five (5) $400 scholarships for full-time students at a college or university in any field of

study. The eligible recipients will be chosen by lottery.

4. One (1) $100 scholarships to part-time students studying Engineering or transportation related

subjects at a college or university. The recipient will be chosen by lottery.

Notifications and/or checks will be sent to all applicants on August 30, 2026 via email.
